elevated 9QLiY In Loving Memory
elevated 9QLiY On Friday, September 3rd, 2021 Agostino Scarangella left us for his new home with God.
elevated 9QLiY No one knew at the time of his birth that this extraordinary man born August 27, 1926 would carry his family name for almost a century.
elevated 9QLiY Agostino was a devoted husband to Angela and a loving father to Giacomo, Angela, Flora and Antoniette. Agostino will be sadly missed by his siblings Santina (Antonio) and Tony. Brother in law to Antonia, Faustina (Antonio) and Pietro (Antonia). He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.
elevated 9QLiY Born in Toritto, Italy to Giacomo and Angela Scarangella he was the fourth of eight children. Agostino came to Canada in 1950 and worked tirelessly to provide a better life for his family.
elevated 9QLiY A passionate gardener, Agostino loved the planting season, watching his vegetables grow and enjoying his harvest. He would share his bounty with his favorite people. Agostino enjoyed keeping traditions such as wine and salami making. Agostino loved all sports – he would spend endless hours alongside his wife watching any and every sporting event. He was a diehard Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fan. For those of you that were fortunate to be part of Agostino’s daily life, he was a master handyman and loved fixing any broken household item. His enduring devotion to his family, his work ethic, his beautiful smile and sunny “good mornings” will be deeply missed by his family. We are so blessed by the length of years that God granted us with our Father and we will cherish all the wonderful memories.
elevated 9QLiY The family will receive visitors on Wednesday September 8th, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family (invitation only) mass and burial will be held on Thursday September 9th, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home in the Chapel of St Joseph. The mass will be available for live stream viewing. Please check the Holy Cross Funeral website for details.
elevated 9QLiY In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Agostino Scarangella to Humber River Hospital Foundation.

Our sincerest condolences to our beautiful neighbours….the Scarangella family! Agostino will be sadly missed from all of us that lived on Wintergreen, especially the Casciaro family. Little did we know that when our dads (Gino and Agostino) moved in with their young families in1963, that our families would form such a strong bond and become long-time friends that would last a lifetime…..almost 60 years!
On behalf of my dad in Heaven, he welcomes Agostino with open arms. God Bless Agostino and Gino and God Bless your family during this very difficult time. Hugs to all of you.
