It is with deep sadness that the family of Amerigo Covello announces his passing on January 2, 2026 – peacefully, surrounded by his family at Mackenzie Health Hospital – at the age of 89. Born on July 2, 1936, in Perito, Italy, to Antonio and Annunziata Covello. Amerigo lived a life defined by devotion to family, pride in his craft, and the traditions he carried forward with love.

He married Ada (née Coscarelli) in 1963, beginning a partnership that spanned more than six decades. Together, they raised a family rooted in warmth, hard work, and the values of their heritage.

He was a proud and longstanding member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Allied Workers Local 27, a community that meant a great deal to him.

He is also survived by his brother Francesco (Rosanna 2025) and his sister Anita (Vincenzo 1993).

elevated TSoBB Amerigo was a devoted husband whose loyalty, steadiness, and quiet acts of care shaped the foundation of his family. He was a loving father who guided his children with patience, strength, and unwavering support. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent watching them grow, laugh, and carry forward the family spirit he held so dear.

elevated TSoBB He found joy in the simple, abundant pleasures of life: tending his garden, gathering family around the table, and sharing the food and wine he lovingly crafted by hand. He made his own wine, cured meats, prepared tomato sauce, and filled the home with jars of homemade jams and preserves — each one a testament to his patience, skill, and generosity.

elevated TSoBB He will be remembered for his steady presence, his craftsmanship, his pride in his roots, and the love he poured into every part of his life. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, and the countless places touched by his hands.
