With great sadness, we announce the passing of Carmine D’Orio on May 22, 2026, at the age of 94.
elevated KZjER Beloved husband of the late Angela D’Orio (2025), Carmine shared a remarkable marriage of 70 years with the love of his life. Their devotion to one another was unwavering, and they spent a lifetime together built on love, respect, and family.
elevated KZjER Loving father of Tina (Nick) Colica, Gina (John) Paolone, Anna D’Orio, and Rita (the late Michael) O’Hara. Cherished Nonno of Danielle, Angie, Sabrina, Stephanie, Jessica, and Elizabeth, and proud Bis-Nonno of Nicole, Joshua, and Aramani. Carmine was predeceased by his parents, Bernardina and Gregorio D’Orio; his many brothers and sisters in Italy; his brother Domenico D’Orio and sister-in-law Maddalena D’Orio; and his brother Antonio D’Orio. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Gina D’Orio, and by his nieces and nephews in Canada.
elevated KZjER Born in Roccasecca, Italy, Carmine immigrated to Canada in 1956 with the hope of building a better future for his family. Through hard work, perseverance, and dedication, he established a life rooted in family values, integrity, and generosity.
elevated KZjER Carmine worked as a mechanic who specialized in rewiring motors and was known for his exceptional ability to repair and build almost anything. A hardworking and dependable man, he took great pride in providing for his family and ensuring they were always cared for.
elevated KZjER A passionate gardener and talented home cook, Carmine found great joy in making homemade wine, preparing tomato sauce, and cultivating a garden that produced an abundance of vegetables for family, friends, and neighbours alike. His generosity knew no bounds, and his home was always open to others. Nothing brought him greater happiness than gathering family and friends around his table and sharing a meal together.
elevated KZjER Family was at the heart of everything Carmine did. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Though a man of few words, his quiet strength, kindness, and compassion were evident in his actions. He cared deeply for those around him, always placing the needs of others before his own and offering help without hesitation. His selflessness was such that he would gladly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
elevated KZjER A man of deep faith, Carmine found comfort and strength in his belief in God. Together with his beloved Angela, he faithfully listened to prayers on Radio Maria, a cherished part of their daily lives and a reflection of the faith that guided them throughout their marriage.
elevated KZjER Carmine will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his generosity, and his gentle spirit. His legacy of love, sacrifice, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

I send my condolences on the passing of your Dad. I remember fondly as a young girl coming to visit your parents and their visits with my Nonna. Your parents were very special. Love and hugs at such a sad time.
