elevated lCD9J Obituary
elevated lCD9J It is with great sadness that our family announce the passing of Guido Caprara, who departed this life peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 90. Guido was born on June 14, 1935, in Chieti, Italy.
elevated lCD9J Guido was a loving husband to Joyce, his wife of 30 years. He shared his continued love and dedication for her every day after her passing in 2004 with wonderful stories and shared memories of their life together. Guido was a wonderful father to son William (Bill) Sikora and his wife Deb and a special uncle to his many nieces and nephews in Italy. His absolute pride and joy was being Nono to his two grandchildren Adam (wife Vanessa) and Stephania (fiancé Paul). He was a kind, generous and devoted grandfather and continued to burst with pride at the arrival of each of his 4 granddaughters, Julianne, Olivia, Isabelle and Emilia.
elevated lCD9J Guido first came to Canada from Italy in 1956, to work in Northern Ontario. He recounted many stories of his long and arduous days working on the railroad and his love for his newfound home in Canada. In the late 50’s he moved to Toronto and met the love of his life Joyce. He spent many years in Toronto and Brampton, working at a steel factory and on weekends installing doors and windows. He was a very hardworking man and prided himself on his many DIY projects and his collections of garage sale finds…. that only ever needed a bit of fixing!
elevated lCD9J Guido’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. The family is forever grateful for the wonderful care Guido was given at Hawthorne Woods Care Community for the last few years. Our thanks and heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and kindness of all those who cared for him. A funeral service will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home on Saturday November 15, 2025.

Deb and Bill,
We learned of Guido’s passing only yesterday. For close to forty years I had the pleasure and privilege of being the family doctor for Joyce and Guido. All of us at the Family Medicine Centre were very fond of them. Any courtesy or kindness shown to them was a reflection of the courtesy and kindness always shown to us. I will always remember them for the great love between them (and for Joyce’s jokes of course!)
