Dr. S. Khanna/Diana + staff at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Dear Brown and Miller Families,
I was greatly saddened to hear of your loss. Jane was a very special person who touched many lives.
I met Jane and her family many years ago through my husband, Bill Mortlock. I was delighted to be welcomed into this wonderful extended family, as I did not have many relatives, other than my immediate family, in Canada. Through the years, there were various wedding and baby showers and other family functions. Jane and Joe even came to our wedding in Edwards Gardens.
I even banked at Jane’s CIBC Branch on Jane Street, close to Lawrence Avenue in Toronto. I was working in a doctor’s office close by. When her branch closed, Bill was able to take the wooden counters and use them in his workshop in our house in Bradford, Ontario.
Through the miles and years, we lost touch. But, I always sent a Christmas card to let Jane and her family know I always thought of them.
I am grateful that I was able to speak with Jane last year.
Family and friends are the most important valuables in this life, and we must cherish every moment we have with them.
My heart goes out to you!
