It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, Maria Salerno on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born on November 1, 1938, in Rende, Italy and was predeceased by her devoted husband Luigi, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and happiness. Now together again, they will surely continue their treasured dances and revisit their favourite holiday destinations.
elevated GrtMO A cherished mother, she is survived by her children, Salvatore (Adriana), Gina (Joe) and Frank (Cathey). She was the proud grandmother to Luigi, Christina (Guido), Julian (Sandy), Daniel (Jill), Marco, Matthew (Ashley), Stefano (Daniella) and Rachel. Great-grandmother to Emma, Ralphie, Gianluca, Sienna, Alessia, Elliana, Scarlett and Jackson. Maria was also a dear Zia to many nieces and nephews living in Canada, the United States, Italy and Switzerland.
elevated GrtMO Maria’s greatest joy came from tending to her vegetable garden, spending countless hours nurturing her plants and generously sharing her harvest. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

My dear zia Maria. You were one of the first of the family that welcomed us to Canada and your home when we immigrated here. I have so many fond memories of all of our family events and outings.
