elevated Joz5r Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marianna Barbera (nee Adamo) on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the age of 99.
Marianna was born on June 10, 1926 in Vita, Sicilia, Italia to Antonino Adamo and Maria Internicola (deceased 1931), and later became stepdaughter to Paola. She was the eldest sister of six siblings, who she loved dearly, the late Giuseppina, Maria, Caterina, the late Vito and Stefano.

elevated Joz5r In 1957 she and her husband Rosario (deceased 2000), along with their two young daughters, immigrated to Canada to begin a new life in Toronto. She and Rosario celebrated 53 loving years of marriage, always dedicated to their children, grandchildren and extended family. They were proud of the life they built with their daughters Sara Costantini (late Vincenzo) and Maria Buscemi (Fernando). She was a doting Nonna to Daniela, Natalia, Joseph and Nadia and loved spending time with them.

elevated Joz5r She began work in Canada as a sewing machine operator, and later took pride in her many years of work at North York General Hospital as a linen technician. In her later years, she came to enjoy spending time at the cottage with her second husband, the late Antonino Monaco.

Marianna loved to be active at home and in her community. She found great joy in listening and singing to music and sharing her incredible cooking and baking. She was also very skilled at sewing and crocheting, as well as having a green thumb. She had a competitive nature and loved playing scopa, bocce and bingo.
Her ever-present sense of humour, strong will and resilient spirit will be greatly missed. Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
