elevated e1c2K Nada emigrated to Toronto, Canada with a suitcase and $5 at the age of 19 with dreams of a better life in a new land. She worked briefly as a nanny until she met her beloved Antun at a dance in the Hrvatski Dom on Dupont. Together the cornerstones of their family life focused on their heritage, belief in strong faith and family beginning with their marriage on July 29,1961.
elevated e1c2K Nada was the heart of her family, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose love was felt most strongly around the kitchen table. Cooking and baking was her language of care, and through her meals she passed down Croatian traditions, stories and a sense of togetherness that will live on for generations.
elevated e1c2K Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the recipes she shared, the values she instilled and the love that continues to bind the family together.
elevated e1c2K Nada lived with a strong faith in God that sustained her in her many health challenges.
elevated e1c2K Words are not sufficient to express how much we will miss her but we are comforted that she is finally at peace and with her beloved ‘Stari’.
