elevated V2KLJ Obituary
It is with great sadness and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon C Vernon (nee McFadden) on October 8, 2024, surrounded by her family at Michael Garron Hospital at the age of 82. Now reunited with her loving parents, Jack and Eilleen McFadden, and dear sister Beverly. Sharon was the loving and devoted mother to Stacey, doting grandmother to Jason, and affectionate sister to Dianne, Brad, Billy and Glenn. Sharon will be sadly missed and held dearly in the hearts of her many extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
elevated V2KLJ Sharon’s life was made fulfilled through her career of service to the community in and surrounding St. Paul’s Basilica in downtown Toronto. This community, being in particular need of support and assistance which is provided through the Breakfast Club, St. Vincent de Paul food-room and Christmas Baskets that provided food and gifts to 500 families every year. Sharon was the president of her St. Vincent de Paul and Catholic Women’s League over the course of her 30 plus year career as secretary of St. Paul’s Basilica. Her many acts of kindness and charity touched the hearts of hundreds of people. Her loving and generous nature was also shielded with a courageous spirit, having to deal with the very needy community that constantly came to her doorstep for help. This area of Toronto is one of the roughest and toughest in the GTA, but Sharon managed to show compassion to all she met though she was a force to be reckoned when needed.
elevated V2KLJ Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
elevated V2KLJ In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Sharon can be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Hi Stacey !
Be assured of my prayers. Your mom was one of the most amazing women I have ever known. It was wonderful to meet you and her at St. Paul’s in September 1977. She was an integral part of the Parish community, and she will be remembered as a true and faithful disciple.
Dear Fr. Edwin,
Thank you so kindly for your prayers and your praise. Yes agreed, my mother was truly one of a kind and an amazing woman.
Great memories were made and shall always be cherished.
It was wonderful to meet you as well, my mom spoke highly of you.
Many Blessings to you,
Stacey
Stacey, my sincerest condolences at the loss of your dear Mother. It’s never easy but the loss of a Mother is undeniably the greatest loss. Your Mother, may she rest in peace knowing she did the work of God, she was loved and her love & kindness live on. 🙏🏻🫶🏼
Dear Melanie,
Thank you for your comforting words and for attending my mom’s funeral.
It is a great loss, because this is the one person who always has your back and loves you unconditionally no matter what. The love of a mother is like no other. She is missed for sure….she lives on in my heart.
With Love,
Stacey
To Sharon’s family she is fondly remembered by the Ubell family and parishioners at St Paul’s she was a vital part of our community.
Dear Andrea,
Thank you for your kind words…we sure did have a lot of fun over the years. The Church and the community feeling that was created was an integral part of my up bringing. I remember all the events over 30 years or more, such good times and service to the surrounding communities in need.
Big Hugs!
Stacey
