It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Utoor Sliman in Toronto, who was surrounded by the love of her family. Utoor was born in Basra, Iraq to parents the late Is’hak Ibrahim and the late Amina Khatoon. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Jinan Sliman in 2018. She is survived by her loving children; Rammi with his wife Nina and Rania with her husband Hormis. Adored Nana to Luke, Noah, and Larsa. Cherished sister of Samira and the late Ghanim, Ilham and the late Abid, Montaha and the late Jamil, Raad and Anwar, Ray and Carmela, Essam and Wafa, Ammir and Senaa, with the late Mona and Jalal. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and all those that knew and loved her. Our mother Utoor was a woman of God, whose faith never wavered throughout her long journey. She always encouraged us to attend church and have strong faith in God. Utoor had a lively and passionate spirit for bringing together her family and loved ones. She found joy in cooking for her family and celebrating life’s most special moments. Her place in our large family will be greatly missed and deeply felt but never forgotten. Her spirit will live on in each one of us.

Auntie Utoor,
You have taught us all what strength in life’s trials, in the spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ really is. You raised wonderful children who adored and stood by you and as friends of theirs, we thank you for the gift of them. We pray that your soul is resting in everlasting peace and reward with our Lord. May she and her family find tranquillity in knowing her soul rests with God, the ultimate reward.
