Maria Care (nee Psaroudis)
elevated Rv698 Maria Care (nee Psaroudis), 69, of Brampton, passed away suddenly at Brampton Civic Hospital on September 8, 2026, with her husband of 21 years, Raffaele Care, by her side.
Maria was a strong-willed, independent and outspoken woman who was never afraid to express her opinion. Those who knew Maria knew where she stood. She approached life on her own terms and brought determination, energy and a distinctive personality to everything she did.
For many years, Maria worked in Brantford at BASF, formerly Inmont, where she developed lasting friendships and was part of the working community there for a significant portion of her life.
Maria enjoyed keeping busy and had a creative side. She loved gardening, painting and making decorative wall plaques. She was also a dedicated volunteer with William Osler Health System, where she put her considerable knitting skills to use making sweaters, hats and mittens for children and cancer patients.
At the centre of Maria’s life was her husband, Raffaele. They shared 21 years of marriage and a life together filled with experiences, companionship and memories that Raffaele will always carry with him.
Maria will be remembered as a woman of character—spirited, determined, creative and unmistakably herself. She made an impression on the people she encountered and will be remembered by her family, friends, former colleagues and all those who knew her over the years.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Funeral Home Chapel, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, Ontario L5T 1N4. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria’s memory may be made to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)in Toronto.
