elevated 6NFeq Anthony Tsun-Hung Ng went into the embrace of The Lord peacefully in his sleep without any suffering on October 24th, 2021 at the age of 79 after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Agnes (née Wong) for nearly 53 years, loving father of Ignatius (Tammy) and Elaine (Michael), and proud grandfather of Sophie and Aiden. He is also survived by his sister Mary O (Anthony) and her family.
elevated 6NFeq Born in Hong Kong in 1942, Anthony attended Wah Yan College Hong Kong and graduated from the University of Hong Kong Medical School in 1967. He immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1970, first settling in Ottawa. The family eventually moved to Toronto where he worked as an Anesthesiologist at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill (now known as Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital) where he dutifully served his community for over 40 years.
elevated 6NFeq Anthony was a man of strong character, principle and integrity, who was warm and generous in spirit, and a devout Catholic. He was a wonderful family man – a loving son and son-in-law, a caring brother, a committed husband, a devoted father and doting grandfather. Anthony will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
elevated 6NFeq He enjoyed travelling, classical music, Toronto Raptors’ wins and most importantly, treasured his time with family and friends usually over a nice meal and wonderful conversation.

Dear Agnes, Ignatius and Elaine,
Indeed Pat and I are very shocked and sad to hear the sudden departure of our beloved and closest friend, Anthony whom we know for a very, very long time. At this difficult time, we share your feelings of sorrow and agony. Anthony.is the kindest and gentlest person we have ever known, a man of high level of integrity and a man very committed to his family.
Past is past. Anthony does not want to see you all to live in sorrow. He definitely hopes, after a period of sorrow, you all should resume your normal life and look forward to future with greater confidence. He will bestow blessing upon you from other world.
Anthony will always be remembered in our prayer. Take care and stay healthy.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of a good man and a true friend. We will dearly miss Anthony.
I was very shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Anthony when Agnes sent me the message in the early morning of Oct. 25. I have known Tony since the Wah Yan days; his father taught us Math. I recall Tony came to Ricci Hall at the HKU in 1962 and we stayed in the same hostel for a year before my graduation. Then I met him again at York Central Hospital, where we worked together and he often administered anaesthesia to my patients for ECT. He was a perfect gentleman, of great integrity, always kind and gentle in his care of people. He was a wonderful travel companion; our travel together to Paris and Russia on the river cruise was unforgettable. Tony was a fervent, devout Catholic, and he and Agnes brought up an exemplary family much admired by others.
We will surely miss Tony. He will be fondly remembered in our daily life, in our prayers and in our travel.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Dr. Ng introduced me to York Central Hospital over two decades ago. He offered me to work there when he was the Chief of Anaesthesia… and I stayed for over twenty years! Anthony was a dedicated and exemplary physician with the highest professional integrity, earning the respect of all who worked with him. At the same time, he was a modest man with traditional values and high moral principles. He was a true gentleman and served as an example for us all. I feel blessed to have known him as a trusted colleague and as a friend. Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathies at this most difficult time. Anthony has departed to a better place, and God shall give you the strength to overcome your pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May fond memories and the love of those around you bring peace and serenity.

We will miss very much our great classmate, a real gentleman, and someone who is soft-spoken, always wearing a kind smile. We like to share the few words written by Fuk To for this sad occasion: “We are the tiny particles in the sandglass. One by one, each will go in a fixed time. Life is short and time is limited. Enjoy the gifts from God while you can, which are to love and be loved.” Anthony certainly has had full enjoyment of these. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Agnes and Anthony has always been the perfect married couple that my husband C.L. and myself look up to as role models for ‘being there for one another’ in difficult times.
With the passing of Anthony, we have lost an ‘old faithful friend’.

Dear Agnes, Ignatius, Elaine and children,
I am really saddened to learn that Anthony finally went to his next life, Heaven, after such a long illness. He was one of my first friends at University, a gracious and kind man and a true gentleman. We crossed paths again in Toronto where Anthony often arranged to have classmates and spouses meet. Perhaps without him then, many of us would not have stayed in touch. He was such a devout Catholic, a loving father and a perfect husband to Agnes.
I know you all
miss him terribly and will grieve but he will want you to move on. Agnes, stay in touch.
Anthony left us Goodness, a model to embrace Christ, a lifetime of service and compassion to his fellow brothers and sisters and an everlasting love for Agnes and his family. He has earned his place in the Kingdom of God. May his sweet soul take comfort.
