elevated c1rnY Obituary

elevated c1rnY Ed passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, at the Maple Health Centre in Maple Ontario.

elevated c1rnY Born in Klentnice in the Czech Republic on March 12, 1933, Ed and his family became refugees in 1946 and were forced to migrate to Germany.  Living and training as a carpenter in Germany in his youth gave him the skills to emigrate to Canada in 1954.

elevated c1rnY In Canada, Ed would meet his lovely bride Marilyn and marry in 1960. They would start a family with their daughter Caroline in 1961 and son Ed Jr. in 1962. Ed would ply his trade as a carpenter in places such as Elliot Lake, Battawa and Toronto before working for Richard B. A. Ryan in Toronto for over 30 years. Showing a passion for accomplishment, whether it was working in the garden or building his home or cottages, Ed met every endeavour with energy and commitment. His passion for building extended to his family. His embrace of hard work transcended generations. The accomplishments of his family– teacher, journalist, entrepreneur, librarian, genetic counsellor, pediatric neurologist, engineer, and banker– were his greatest pride. Ed contributed to his new country through his building of home and cottages but more significantly through the family he guided through the years. A simple man from a small town who lived a long life and accomplished so much.

elevated c1rnY Ed is predeceased by his daughter Caroline (2022) (Sam), missed dearly by his wife Marilyn, son Ed Jr. (Miriam), and his grandchildren Natalie, Samantha (Nate), Alexander (Ellie), Matthew (Landon)

elevated c1rnY We would like to thank the staff at the Maple Health Centre and all the doctors and nurses for their love and care in Ed’s final years.

elevated c1rnY „Als Gott sah, dass der Weg zu lang, der Hügel zu steil, das Atmen zu schwer wurde, legte er seinen Arm um ihn und sprach: „Komm heim!“
