elevated 9tTNZ It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Genowefa Izdebski, at the age of 98 on Friday July 21, 2023 in Midland, Ontario.

elevated 9tTNZ Genowefa is survived by her daughter Barbara Patterson, grandchildren Allyson   Patterson and Brian Izdebski; sister Wanda Matyszczuk (Walter)

elevated 9tTNZ Genowefa was predeceased by her son Zbigniew Ben Izdebski (Maria); parents Zofia (Kogut) and Stanislaw Chlon; sisters Stasia (Stanislaw) Fudala and Katarzyna; brothers Edward, Kazimierz (Violet), and Walter (Toni).

elevated 9tTNZ Genowefa was a WWII Siberia survivor, taken at the age of 15 along with her parents and brothers and sisters from their home in Wawelowka, Tarnopol, Poland. They were taken to a Komi Oblast in Russia and were put to work in the forests at Gyrkashor. After one and a half years they were freed and travelled to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Persia. They sailed to Uganda, Africa and remained there for 4 years. From there the family travelled to England to reunite with her 2 brothers that were in the army. She married in England to Boleslaw Izdebski and came to Canada to make her permanent residence.
