elevated F5DNP It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved brother and dear Uncle, Thomas Annesley Patterson. Born in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), Annesley’s journey brought him to Canada, enriching countless lives with his presence.

Annesley had an insatiable curiosity that fueled his many passions. From a young age, he displayed a remarkable aptitude for understanding how things worked, meticulously deconstructing and then ingeniously improving them—a talent that perfectly suited his highly respected career as an engineer. A man of tremendous faith and a profoundly generous soul, Annesley consistently prioritized others. His life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to charitable work and improving the lives of those around him, both in Canada and his cherished homeland of Sri Lanka.

Annesley was a true source of wisdom and a devoted guardian of family history. As the eldest, he took it upon himself to make sure all those wonderful stories, our genealogy, and traditions were lovingly passed down – it was so important to him. He truly knew how to live, embracing every circumstance with enthusiasm. Stories of his youthful antics and “tomfoolery” with friends and siblings continue to bring warmth and comfort. His infectious laughter will forever be etched in our hearts.

Annesley was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Irene (née Brohier), his sister Marguerite Scheffer (Rufus), his brother Tristram, and his beloved first wife, May, and second wife Louise. He is survived by his loving brother Ivor (Naomi), sister Therese Jansz (Wilhelm) and sister-in-law, Josephine. He will be deeply missed by his step-sons, Edgar and Christopher Wijayaratnam in Canada and Australia. Proud Papa to Gavin, Warren, James and Christian. He was adored by his cousin, Esther Brohier, and a host of nieces and nephews: Cedric (Rosemary), Marion (Trevor), Deborrah, Denham, Gillian (Mike), Tamara, Michael (Corrine), Travis, Dallas, Gawain, and Melissa (Christopher).
