elevated bW9Il With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vincent Paul Mullen, born in Delvin, County Westmeath, a proud Irish Canadian and beloved father, grandfather and friend who left us peacefully on June 3, 2025 at the age of 87. His warmth, wit and Irish charm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
elevated bW9Il He is lovingly remembered by his children, Lisa (Chris) and Michael (Nadia); grandson, Ryan (Yulia); brothers, Tim and Dan (Geraldine); sisters-in-law, Brigid and Eleanor; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends; the Westmeath Canadian Association and the Toronto Irish Community; and extended family from Canada, United States, Ireland and Scotland.
elevated bW9Il Vincent was the loving husband of Elizabeth Mullen (née Keery), who was born in Ballygowan, Co. Down, and passed away in Ontario in 2021. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with love, partnership and cherished memories. He was also predeceased by his brothers, John (Nellie), Martin, Jim (Alice), Matthew (Margaret); sisters-in-law, Carmel, Rose, Peg; brothers-in-law, George Keery, Jim Weir, Jim Martin; nephews, William, John, Danny, Vincent; niece, Sheila; cousin, Pat and Vincent’s beloved parents, William and Margaret.
elevated bW9Il Vincent and Elizabeth were foster parents for over 30 years, and they are survived by many of the children, now adults, that they welcomed with loving arms into their family and home.
elevated bW9Il Vincent’s legacy lives on through the love of his family and the many lives he touched with his kindness and his humor.
elevated bW9Il The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Canterbury Foundation and the Haven for their exceptional kindness and care during Vincent’s time there. A special thank you to Dr. Allison Jerome for her dedicated medical care and support, his healthcare aids, especially Sandra, Allison, Tash, Simona, Onishe, Molicer, Velma and Richelle; the services manager, Rosemarie; his RN’s, Deepika, Harmeet and Kelly; Chaplain, Colleen; social worker, Sara, and to Vincent’s amazing companion care aide, Mary, who brightened his days.
elevated bW9Il The family would also like to acknowledge the incredible commitment and dedication from Vincent, Kevin and Leo Sherwin (originally of Delvin Co. Westmeath) who truly made a difference in his life with their friendships, steadfast visits and humor. And finally, to Vincent’s dear friend, Patti for her love and affection with whom he truly enjoyed spending his time.
elevated bW9Il For our Alberta friends and family, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Park Memorial Funeral Home (9709 111 Ave, Edmonton, AB). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (9830 148 St NW, Edmonton, AB). elevated bW9Il For our Ontario friends and family, a visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 3:30-6:00pm at Assumption Catholic Cemetery and Funeral Home (6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, ON.) A Catholic graveside service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Assumption Catholic Cemetery with a reception to follow at The Galway Arms Irish Pub and Restaurant (838 The Queensway, Etobicoke, ON).
In loving memory, and in lieu of flowers, I will be donating blood to Canadian Blood Services.
Though Vincent did not pass in need of blood, I hope to honour his life by giving life to others.
