It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jose Cordeiro, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who passed away on October 20, 2025 at the age of 75, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.
elevated WOZXA Born in São Miguel, Portugal, Jose brought with him a deep love for family, tradition, and hard work when he immigrated to Canada in 1974 in pursuit of a better life. A skilled carpenter with an entrepreneurial spirit, Jose founded Cordeiro Contractor Ltd., his lifelong passion. He took pride in every project, leaving behind a lasting mark on his clients, colleagues, the community, and industry alike.
elevated WOZXA For over 30 years, Jose found community and fulfillment by volunteering with the Irmandade Do Divino Espirito Santo of Scarborough. Outside of his dedication to his faith, he served as the Secretary of the General Assembly for the Operário Sports Club de Toronto.
elevated WOZXA Jose is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fatima; their children, Danny, Sandy, Dawn and Marcus; four grandchildren, Alyson, Benjamin, Mason and Mia; his sisters, Aida and Idalina (Fernando); and numerous nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished above all else.
elevated WOZXA Jose touched the lives of family and friends with his perseverance, dedication, and generous spirit. He will be dearly missed, fondly remembered and loved always.
