Catalina Saclao Santos, 95, of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026.

elevated iwZ6x Born in the province of Pampanga, Philippines, Catalina brought the warmth and hospitality of her home with her when she moved to Canada, settling in Toronto and later Newmarket.

elevated iwZ6x ​True to her Kapampangan roots, Catalina was a phenomenal cook. Her culinary talent was legendary, and she was the person everyone called upon to prepare dishes for town fiestas, celebrations, and family gatherings. For Catalina, cooking was a language of love, and no one ever left her table hungry.

elevated iwZ6x ​When she wasn’t feeding others, Catalina found joy in her own simple pleasures. She loved working on her word search puzzles and keeping up with her favorite shows on TFC. She also had a delightful sweet tooth, always enjoying cookies, grapes, chips, and her absolute favorite—White Rabbit candies.

elevated iwZ6x ​She was the devoted mother of her only daughter, Ditas. Catalina’s legacy lives on through her three cherished grandchildren, Marvin, Maureene, and Matthew, whom she adored.
