It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the sudden, yet peaceful, passing of Elena Piva (née Tosello) on April 29, 2026, at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, at the age of 93.

elevated XhGh1 Loving mother of Victor (Elizabeth), Ben (Valerie), and Michael (Flavia). Proud and devoted Nonna of Cole, Jack, Tyler, and Stefania.
elevated XhGh1 Elena was born in Trevignano, Italy. At the age of 21, she immigrated to Canada in 1954, arriving by ship in Halifax with her mother. They joined her three brothers in Toronto, where they made their home. She became a proud Canadian citizen on September 19, 1967.
elevated XhGh1 Elena worked as a sewing machine operator for Dominion Luggage, where she was known as a master of her craft.
elevated XhGh1 She met the love of her life through one of her brother’s friends. They married in 1955 and built a life together in North York, where they raised their three sons.
elevated XhGh1 Elena was known for her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her sarcasm and quick remarks brought laughter to those around her. She was also an incredibly strong woman. After losing her husband at a young age, she raised her boys on her own, taking on various jobs, including cleaning homes and working as a server for a catering company, to provide for her family.
elevated XhGh1 She was a proud Nonna who doted on her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
elevated XhGh1 Elena will be deeply missed and forever held dear in the hearts of her extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
elevated XhGh1 The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her devoted caregivers, Marites and Nico, and the numerous PSW’s for their kind and compassionate care in her final years. With their support, Elena was able to remain in her own home, fulfilling her final wish. Their care and dedication are deeply appreciated.
elevated XhGh1 Words cannot fully express the depth of our gratitude for the generous support, kind words, and heartfelt prayers we have received during this difficult time.
elevated XhGh1 Thank you from the Piva family.
