On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services welcomed families and members of our faith communities to gather at our cemetery locations for the Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed.
This annual celebration provided a meaningful opportunity to come together in prayer and remembrance, honouring the lives of those who have gone before us while reflecting on the Catholic faith’s promise of eternal life and the hope of the Resurrection.
The Masses were celebrated at cemetery locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, bringing together families, parish communities and staff in a shared expression of faith, remembrance and prayer.
A particularly significant celebration took place at Holy Cross Cemetery, where His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, served as the celebrant. His presence offered a special blessing to the many faithful who gathered to remember and pray for their departed loved ones.
Through the Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed, Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services continues its ministry of accompanying families in faith—honouring those who have died and proclaiming the hope we share in Christ.
