Our beloved mother, Maria Irene Cabral, passed away on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her family.

elevated sHp8U She was born on January 8, 1934, in Rabo Peixe, São Miguel, Azores. She is survived by her loving children, Grace (John), Filomena (Tony), Antonio, Irene (Peter), Rosa, Amy (Jaime) John (Ana) and Ezza; her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Tamma, Zenna, Adam, Melanie, Justin, Simon, Gabriel, Mira, Joel, Dara, Samantha, Jeremy, Calvin, Lucas, Emma, and Sebastian; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Logan, Robyn, Jordyn, Amelie and Sirena.

Irene devoted her life to her family and her faith, raising eight children with love, patience, and unwavering dedication. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, kindness, and generosity, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, where everyone was welcomed and cared for.

She found great joy in family traditions, especially during the holidays. Her children will forever remember waking up to the comforting smell of sweetbread baking in the oven and gathering around the table with family and friends. Through these simple acts of love, she created memories that became the foundation of family life and brought generations together.

Deeply devoted to her faith, Irene also possessed a remarkable sense of adventure. She traveled on pilgrimages to Jerusalem, Fatima, Lourdes and Egypt multiple times. She embraced each experience with courage, curiosity, and gratitude. One of her favourite stories was riding a camel in Egypt, an adventure she was especially proud of and loved to share with her family.

Above all,  Irene had a rare gift for making people feel loved. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. To her children, she was not only a mother but the heart of our family. No words can fully capture the love she gave, the sacrifices she made, or the loss we feel. Her love lives on in the traditions she created, the faith she shared, and the family she cherished above all else.
