elevated KLSxf It is with profound sadness, that the family announces the peaceful passing of 

elevated KLSxf Marie Normande Audette “Norma” Barron (née Melanson) 

elevated KLSxf on May 30, 2026, at University Hospital in London, Ontario, at the age of 89.

elevated KLSxf Laid to rest on July 18th 2026 at Holy Cross Cemetery Thornhill Ontario.

elevated KLSxf Norma was born on September 2, 1936, in Fox Creek, New Brunswick, now part of the City of Dieppe near Moncton. She was the beloved daughter of Alban Melanson and Marie-Éva LeBlanc, and remained proud of her Acadian heritage throughout her life.

elevated KLSxf Norma was mother to Cynthia (Christopher) Bilinski; Michael (Brenda) Barron and Lisa (Guy) Van Gelder. 

elevated KLSxf She was grandmother to Stephanie Bilinski, David Bilinski, and Mitch Van Gelder.

elevated KLSxf She shared an especially close and lifelong bond with her sisters Doris, Edna, Minnie, Corinne, and Aline. They were not only sisters, but lifelong friends.

elevated KLSxf Norma was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Francis Clayton Barron; her parents, Alban Melanson and Marie-Éva LeBlanc; and many dearly loved brothers and sisters. She is lovingly survived by her cherished sister, Aline Pitre of Sarnia, Ontario, as well as her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.

elevated KLSxf The family extends heartfelt thanks to the physicians, nurses, and staff of University Hospital for their compassionate care, and especially to Ann Campbell, whose friendship, kindness, creativity, and devoted companionship brought immeasurable comfort and joy to Norma in her final years.

elevated KLSxf In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. These organizations provide compassionate support, education, and research for individuals and families whose lives have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.
