elevated G4XJs It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mother and grandmother, Anica Zelko. She passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind cherished memories, a legacy of warmth, love, and devotion, and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Franc.
elevated G4XJs Anica was a devoted mother to Frank (Marta) and Jozef, and a proud grandmother to Anna (Caio), Natasha, Michael and Sarah. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends in Canada and Slovenia.
elevated G4XJs Her life was filled with vibrancy, kindness, and joy, with her smile and laughter brightening every room. Over her 90 years, she touched the hearts of many, welcoming all with open arms and a heart full of boundless love. Anica radiated such comfort and warmth that everyone who met her soon found themselves calling her “Grandma”.
elevated G4XJs Her light will continue to shine down upon us, offering us guidance and comfort as we carry her memory forward and share her wisdom with generations to come.

We were so sorry to hear of your mom’s/grandma’s passing. There was never a task inside or outside the cottage that Anica wouldn’t tackle. But above all, her laughter could always be heard. She was so proud of her family and so happy that Michael and Sarah are staying and looking after the cottage now.

Dear Frank and Joe,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a very gentle, kind and patient lady. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel comfortable, loved, and cared for. I will always remember her beautiful smile and the way she welcomed us into her home with such kindness and warmth.
Your mother and our mother shared more than 60 years of a beautiful and solid friendship, built on unwavering trust, mutual respect, and the intentional support they gave to one another. Their friendship was truly special, and it is something I will always treasure and remember.
Sixty years is a lifetime of memories, and I feel so grateful that our families were able to share such a special bond over all these years. I hope that we can carry on the beautiful friendship that our mothers had, just as they did—with love, trust, respect, and always being there for one another.

Anica was an amazing full of life person, she loved her family and friends dearly. She was a fantastic neighbour of 25 years and I enjoyed keeping in touch after I moved. My condolences to the entire family. May she rest in Peace.
