elevated valqr Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services – Archdiocese of Toronto (CCFS) is an established and growing organization that provides Labourers with a unique opportunity to work with a great team, using your skills in construction, landscaping and/or general maintenance to care for our buildings and properties, while making a difference for many grieving families. This position is responsible to work primarily at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Barrie and occasionally on our Woodbridge property located at Hwy 27 & 407
elevated valqr DUTIES:
- Perform landscaping and hardscaping duties around buildings, structures, monument foundations, roadways and the general property (lawn maintenance, planting, weeding, watering, etc.).
- Perform basic janitorial services in our buildings (vacuum, dust, replace light bulbs, general housekeeping, etc.).
- Participate in the Catholic burial process, including the preparation, set up and completion of burials, framing, pouring concrete and installing memorialization foundations and items.
- Operate motorized vehicles (golf carts, utility vehicles) and equipment (ride-on vacuum, lawnmowers, trimmers, gators, and backhoe).
- Assist in the preparation of on-site religious celebrations and special event days.
- Participate in snow removal on an on-call basis throughout the winter.
elevated valqr QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years + experience in general light construction or landscaping preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labour, lifting up to 50 lbs., working from heights, and within confined spaces.
- Backhoe experience is required.
- Ability to participate in our on-call afterhours snow clearing duties.
- Customer Service oriented and ability to work alone.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Fluent in English (oral/written) and basic computer and numeracy skills.
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License in good standing and a Clear Driver’s Abstract.
- Clear Police/Criminal Background Check.
- Full time hours: 8h per day (8:00am to 4:30pm), 5 days per week.
