It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosa Soares, at the age of 58.
elevated 99Wk6 Rosa was born on November 30, 1967, in Biscoitos, Terceira, Açores, where she lived until the age of 12 before immigrating to Toronto, Canada. She was predeceased by her father, Antonio Tavares Grilo, in 1980, and her mother, Albertina do Couto Garcia, in 1999.
elevated 99Wk6 Though deeply mourned, Rosa’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loving husband of 40 years, Antonio; her children, Shawn (Marina) and Stephanie (Rocco); her siblings, Jose, Berta, and Jorge; and her cherished granddaughters, Milania, Adalyn, and Liliana. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and colleagues.
elevated 99Wk6 For over 30 years, Rosa worked in the Bloordale community, where she became a familiar and loved face. You could hardly walk down Bloor Street with her without being stopped by someone she knew from work, who over the years had become a friend. People confided in Rosa, trusted her, and valued her kindness and warmth. She had a way of making people feel heard, welcomed, and cared for.
elevated 99Wk6 Rosa was a selfless and loving woman who cherished her family above all else. She was happiest when everyone was together, surrounded by laughter, love, and the simple moments that meant the most. Her love and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I’ll always remember Rosa working in Main Drugmart. She always had lots of laughter and such a beautiful kind woman.
