elevated tgKs1 Obituary

elevated tgKs1 HUBERT, Marion Marianna (née Perrone)
On the afternoon of October 17, 2026, with a brilliant blue sky above and surrounded by family, Marion Marianna Hubert passed away peacefully in hospital after a brief illness.

elevated tgKs1 Marion, along with her cherished husband of 54 years, Bertram [d. 2009], raised five children – Rita, Laura, Rosanne, Paul, Martin – and delighted in her eight grandchildren – Scott, Kathleen, Michael, Matthew, Lucas, Rebecca, Sarah, Hannah – and four great grandchildren- Amelia, Joshua, Zoey, Logan.

elevated tgKs1 Marion was a woman of many talents, both traditional and modern. She and her beloved younger brother, Peter [d. 2024], grew up at Clinton and College and returned there often to enjoy lunch and each other’s company. Growing up in Little Italy, Marion learned to sew and make hats, went swimming at Sunnyside, shared penny candy and secrets with her best friend, Marie, helped her Aunt Lena and Uncle Frank at their popular sandwich shop, and worked at the Woolworth’s candy counter.

elevated tgKs1 An avid reader and art lover, Marion excelled in school. Although she dreamed of attending Harbord Collegiate, she, like so many girls of that time, attended technical school, where she mastered secretarial skills so thoroughly that IBM had to engineer the Type Ball to keep up with her typing prowess. She applied those skills at Fraser & Beatty at the top of First Canadian Place. Earlier in her career, while working at the Weston Bakery on Dupont, she regularly brought home Napoleons for her children and sparked a lifelong friendship with Pat.

elevated tgKs1 Marion worked full-time while managing her busy, growing, multigenerational household. Friends and family were always welcome at the first or second dinner seating, which usually included homemade pasta sauce, her famous baseball-sized meatballs, and roast beef. She learned to cook from her mom, Rose; how to box the exactor from her dad, Eddie; and how to pretend to like bowling by falling in love with Bert.

elevated tgKs1 She was the keeper of family history and remained close to and proud of all her relatives across Canada and the U.S., especially her many nieces and nephews. She served her family and the church with the same loving heart, exemplifying kindness, charity, and grace.

elevated tgKs1 Her life was a beautiful reflection of her enduring faith in God and a legacy of unconditional love and devotion to family.

elevated tgKs1 In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in Marion’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Jesus, I trust in you.
