elevated LL4Xc In Loving Memory of Ante Šestanović
With great sorrow, we announce that our beloved father and grandfather, Ante Šestanović, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lumbarda, on the island of Korčula, Croatia, Ante immigrated to Canada in 1955, arriving with determination and a dream for the future. He built a life in Canada and shared 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Katica. Together, they created a loving home and family while maintaining a deep connection to their Croatian roots and their beloved Lumbarda.

Ante was an intelligent, humorous and resourceful man who could fix just about anything. A talented tool and die tradesman, he worked at Boeing and was known for his remarkable skill and attention to detail. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. He found great joy in playing his accordion for his own enjoyment, often taking quiet pleasure in the music and memories it brought him.

His greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Katica, who preceded him in death; a loving father to Janet, Nancy (Bill) and Ante (Sandra); and a cherished grandfather to Nicholas (Annabelle), Alex (Emma), Angelina (Luka), Anthony and Ella. He was their biggest fan and their bestest friend, proudly cheering them on at hockey, soccer, football games and kolo performances.

Ante will also be lovingly remembered by the family of his late brother, Ive, in Lumbarda, with whom he shared a lasting connection to his homeland and family roots.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice, his personal support workers and all the family and friends who visited and comforted him during his final days.

Ante will be remembered for his resilience, humour, hardworking spirit and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the family he built, the traditions he cherished and the memories we will hold in our hearts forever.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Počivaj u miru Božjem.

May he rest in peace.
