elevated j4uL0 In Loving Memory of Hamid Hemmati

elevated j4uL0 In loving memory of Hamid Hemmati, affectionately known as Joe, Prince Hamid, Ham Ham, and Baba Joon.

elevated j4uL0 Hamid was born on October 12, 1951, in Tehran, Iran. From a young age, he developed a love for soccer, playing cards, history, and above all, birds, especially pigeons. After serving in the army, he moved to San Antonio at the age of 24 to attend the University of Texas. It was there that he met the second love of his life, Mary. Who would have thought that a man from the East would fall head over heels not only for Mary, but also for cowboy culture, line dancing, and BBQ? In 1979, their world was turned upside down when Hamid said goodbye to Mary and returned to his homeland to help his family through turbulent times. After more than two years apart, countless love letters, and a few precious phone calls, he was finally able to return to his beloved Mary. Their love was made official on March 6, 1982.

elevated j4uL0 On December 18, 1986, Hamid met his first love, Natalie, and became a father. After nearly a decade in the South, Hamid and Mary packed up and moved to the Great White North. Soon after, his heart was made even fuller when their family of three became four with the arrival of Nadia. Three girls, 99 pigeons, and a thriving limousine company—what more could a man want? Weekends were filled with parties, and the house was always alive with laughter, music, card games, dancing, and an abundance of delicious food. Life was grand, and whether you were family, a friend, or even a foe, Hamid’s door and kitchen were always open.

elevated j4uL0 Following his retirement in 2020, Hamid returned to his beloved Texas. In 2023, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer and given just two weeks to live. But true to his resilient spirit, Hamid defied the odds and blessed us with another three years. He will be remembered most for his infectious laughter, unwavering spirit, incredible cooking, and extraordinary gift for bringing people together. His warmth, generosity, and larger-than-life personality touched countless hearts, leaving behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a home that always had room for one more.
