Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services – Archdiocese of Toronto (CCFS) is currently hiring a full time Network/Systems Administrator to join our team at our corporate office located in North York. This is a new position and rare opportunity to work with a full service and fast growing bereavement industry leader. This role is an integral part of the IT department expected to provide network to our employees with end user support and training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance, support and troubleshooting for email/O365, servers/Azure/Cloud, VMWare, routers, computers, mobile devices, CCTV cameras and peripherals including all multi-functional printers.
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the organization’s local area network (LAN). Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
- Manage and all Windows workstations, Servers (multi OS e.g. 2016, 2019, 2022) and Red Hat/Ubuntu Linux server systems and ensure their availability, integrity and security including installation and/or system recovery.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks as related to user/systems management and Linux backups.
- Hardware and Software asset management, licensing, inventory, and documentation.
- Monitor all PCs, Servers, and Mobile Devices to ensure no unauthorized software is installed. Maintain existing hardware and accessories to ensure optimal operating levels.
- Perform user and file maintenance tasks for Server/AD 2019 in an AD and workgroup environment.
- Assigning control mechanisms and user profiles for internal applications.
- Must be able to support, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot the Avaya IP Telephone system.
- Set up and maintain users as required ensuring appropriate security and access levels based on user’s specific job and responsibilities including passwords.
- Provide training, technical assistance and support to CCFS staff at various computer literacy levels where required.
- Handle and resolve L1 and L2 support calls/tickets submitted to our helpdesk in a timely fashion.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks as related to user/systems management and Linux backups.
- Help develop, document and maintain LAN-related support processes and procedures.
- Monitor and log network performance parameters, system/load/data balancing, utilities & systems changes, patches and upgrades.
- Manage enterprise Anti-virus, firewall and malware prevention.
- Monitor CCFS Network and provide regular maintenance and troubleshooting, as required.
- Assist in the managing of the daily operational activities of technology systems. Ensure integrity of CCFS Network and information is kept using regular checks and balances for the purpose of eliminating any vulnerability of CCFS system.
- Maintain a Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan for CCFS Network.
- Set-up and configure PC’s, Laptops and Mobile Phones.
- Maintain inventory of all CCFS computer hardware, software and related licenses.
- Liaison with software providers & outside vendors/suppliers, as directed.
- Co-ordinate projects and /or upgrades with external software suppliers.
- This position is scheduled for a five day work week, Monday to Friday. Core working hours are from 8:30am to 4:30pm but is required to support employees outside ourcore business hours.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent combined with relevant experience
- Microsoft, or equivalent, certification (A+, N+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, MCSE or MCP, Security, Firewall)
- Working knowledge of Unix & Linux Operating System Language, Certification preferred
- Network Capabilities / Experience
- Proficiency with Windows 2016/2019 Server, VMWare, MS Office 365, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, CCTV system, VPN remote access and Avaya Telecom/System
- Superior skills at handling and resolving L1 and L2 support calls/tickets submitted to a helpdesk in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL/Database is an asset
- Working knowledge of PowerShell/scripting is an asset
- Minimum 4 – 6 years of previous job-related experience is required.
- Ability to keep current and knowledgeable with available software, hardware and processes.
- Possesses a number of superior soft skills, including but not limited to: oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, project management skills, train end users at various levels, analytical & problem solving skills and time management.
- Ontario Class G Drivers Licence in good standing (Travel to various locations within the GTA is essential in this position)
- Ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 45 lbs.
- A valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and a clear Police Clearance Record is required.
