elevated 1h5P8 Obituary
Fay Esila Wilson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, friend, and woman of faith, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026 at the age of 88. Born in 1938 in Kingston, Jamaica, Fay lived a life rich in love, faith, laughter, and generosity.

elevated 1h5P8 Fay was the light of every room she entered. She was a devoted wife to her husband Earl of 63 years, and mother to four beloved children. Her nurturing nature extended far beyond her immediate family, touching all who were blessed to know her. Family and friends knew they could always count on her when they needed her.

elevated 1h5P8 Nursing was Fay’s true calling. She trained as a nurse at Bellevue Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, before immigrating to Canada. She continued her nursing education at York University and Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, now Toronto Metropolitan University, and became a Registered Nurse. She spent many years working at Queen Street Mental Health Centre, now CAMH. Outside of work, she enjoyed reading, especially books about the human body and medicine.

elevated 1h5P8 Fay’s greatest joy was keeping a home filled with love and laughter. She loved having people over, and the kitchen was always at the center. Fay mastered the art of Jamaican cooking, seasoning with spices to build deep, layered, authentic Jamaican flavours. Her dining room table was a place where family gathered, laughed, and ate well. Feeding people was one of the ways she showed her love for them.

elevated 1h5P8 Fay loved to laugh, and she and Earl shared many laughs over their 63 years together. Fay also loved to sing. Blessed with a beautiful voice, she shared her talent in the church choir for many years.

elevated 1h5P8 Fay’s life was anchored by her deep belief in God. She was a constant source of spiritual strength and wisdom, always ready with a bible verse and word of encouragement.

elevated 1h5P8 Her children knew her as Mom, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren knew her as Mama. She was the anchor her family could always turn to for support and encouragement. Fay is survived by her husband, four children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, faith, and love.
