elevated E8Nxc It is with great sadness we announce that on March 31, 2024 at the age of 62, and after a courageous battle with cancer, Fernando Martins passed away peacefully.
elevated E8Nxc Fernando leaves behind his beloved sons, Michael, Shane, Brandon and Dylan, his beautiful granddaughter Charlotte, whom he adored, and the devoted mother to his children, Maria Martins. Fernando was the eldest child born to Maximina and the late Adriano Martins. He is survived by his mother, and sister, Liz. He was an uncle to Kaitlin, and friend to many.
elevated E8Nxc Fernando provided over 35 years of service with Aecon. Fernando loved his work, and spent the majority of his career constructing bridges, which so many of us travel on every day.
elevated E8Nxc Fernando fought hard and stayed strong to the very end. Fernando had a unique personality, silly sense of humour and a wonderful smile. His presence will be missed, and he will always be in our hearts. Fernando is now reunited with his father and brother Jose.
elevated E8Nxc The family would like to extend an abundance of gratitude to the staff and volunteers at The Dorothy Ley Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

I can’t say enough about Fernando ,he was such a great person. He was like family to us. Always around whenever we needed him no matter the reason.
You will be missed.

Our sincerest condolences to Fernando’s family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Fernando was part of the Aecon (ACML) team for over 35 years. He was a loyal hard worker, a great mentor and leader who led by example. He took pride in his work and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. His loyalty and kindness never went unnoticed and he was cherished by all.
