patience and being humble go a long way in life.
A true gentleman and a wonderful guide.

I am fortunate to have crossed paths with a Knowledgeable,Humble and Kind man such as Mechery Uncle!
Prayers for your family to bear this loss,Nishé!
Our condolences and prayers for the departed soul.
Prayers for my eldest brother in law, whom I affectionately call Chettan (meaning elder brother in our mother tongue Malayalam).
He came into my life when I was in 4th Std. It was on 3rd June 1968 that he married my eldest sister and since then, till date I have not come across a more kind, gentle hearted and empathic person than my beloved brother in law.
During my tumultuous period of my life in Bombay during the 80s post my husband’s demise, my sister and he were my support and strength. He helped me out in all my pension related work, and making umpteen trips to Mantralaya, the Administrative Department of State Govt. They were even instrumental in getting an apartment for me at New Bombay. He was truly a guide and mentor to me, even accompanying me for my very first job interview in the city.
He used to regale my 2 toddler children with his fascinating stories, take them for short walks to the nearby dairy farm and also enthral them by showing the aeroplanes that were flying low while approaching the runway to land.
Totally unassuming and humble in nature, he was indeed a gem of a person. May his only daughter Nisha, son in law Jimmy, grandchildren Sahil and Rhea and his dearest wife for 57 years…Mary, my dearest sister, find solace and comfort that he is now in heaven, with our Lord Almighty.
As the song goes -“Across the bridge, there’s no more sorrow…
Across the bridge, there’s no more pain,
The sun will shine across the river.”
Rest In Peace dear Chettan….
Praying to God to give you and your family strength in this difficult time. Uncle was one of the sweetest and kindest person I have met . I feel fortunate I got to know him because of you Nisha . I have very fond memories of him always smiling , while visiting your house after school or after college . I even joined S.I.E.S because of you. And there I saw how well respected he was by all the students and faculty. Still he was so kind and unassuming at home. I could see how his face beamed with pride and love seeing you. I remember how happy he was at your marriage. Just thinking of him brings a smile to my face. Rest in peace Uncle 🙏.
