It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gaspare Mangiapane on June 9, 2025. He passed after a sudden illness surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Salemi, Sicily, Italy on February 8, 1936 to Vito Mangiapane (deceased) and Francesca Grassa (deceased). Raised in Salemi, he faced some of the toughest of life’s challenges and had the courage to sail across the ocean to a foreign land to create a better life.
He married his beloved and devoted wife, Antonietta, and immigrated to Toronto where they created a beautiful life together full of love, sacrifice and stolen kisses.
He is remembered and cherished by his four children Vito, Franca (Sante), Lina (Paulo) and Josie (Nicola). Beloved Nonno to Alessandro, Michael, David, Matthew, Daniele, Anastasia and Aurora.
Gaspare loved his family above all else. He was a loving husband, caring father and devoted grandfather. He was the epitome of sacrifice and perseverance through life’s challenges. We will always miss his stories and life lessons. His welcoming demeanour, generous soul and gentle smile will be remembered by all his friends and family. His passing leaves a void in our family and a sadness in our hearts.
We’re deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your Father. Sending your family our deepest condolences. Hoping you find peace during this difficult time. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers that you find comfort knowing that your Dad will live on in your hearts.
With Love,
Mary & Lou Renzo
