elevated kZcgB It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of George Farahat, who passed away peacefully at the age of 66 in the presence of his family on Thursday, February 11, 2021 on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. George’s life was underpinned by an unwavering devotion to God, a thirst for knowledge, and a deep commitment to his family and community. Despite experiencing illness for many decades, George bore his suffering with resilience and grace, and he lived a rich and fulfilling life. He was always keen to help those in need and extended his generosity and thoughtfulness to family, friends, and strangers alike. We were blessed to have him in our lives and will miss him greatly, but are consoled knowing that he is now home with his Lord whom he loved so much. George leaves behind his wife Samia, his sons, Christian and John Paul (Emily), his daughter, Sarah, his brothers, Shaker (Marija), Samy (Mireille), and Samir (Nermine), and his many nieces and nephews.
elevated kZcgB In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Richard Lewar Centres of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research, and Covenant House.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., which will be livestreamed on Jesus the King Melkite Catholic Church Facebook page. A burial will immediately follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks for all of the love and support during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank the many healthcare professionals at Toronto General Hospital who provided exemplary care to George throughout his life.
Our hearts are broken over the loss of George. Even though we knew him for a short time he was always joyful and welcoming. We will miss his spirit but know that he is keeping an eye over us and praying for all of us.
Rest in peace George Edward Shaker Farahat.

We will feel the pain by not being with you Samia, and the your great family, Samy, Shaker family.
We will pray to God to give all peace, knowing that you are now in a better peaceful , joyful paradise. You are with the most high, Jesus himself.
Still I remember very well how you and Samia welcomed Marise & I, back in July 1987 to stay at your home when we arrived in Toronto, without your love, it will be very hard on . Rest in Peace Dear George, may God bless your family, and please keep your prayers for our kids, as they needed more and more.

My deepest condolences to Samia and your whole family
Pray for us
Although we never had the chance to get to know George well we can only marvel at his wonderful legacy of family and his devotion to God. If “service to others” is the rent we pay to get a nicer room in our Father’s house, George is surely moving into a penthouse suite. God bless George.
To all Farahat & dear family and the good friend,
My Deepest Condolences and sincere sympathy
May his memory be eternal
Dear Samia and family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of George. We had just one opportunity to meet George at the wedding of JP and Emily and quickly saw what a wonderful family man he was.
Your in our thoughts and prayers as you navigate these next difficult days.

With sad hearts we`ve learned of the passing of George. We remember him as a wonderful caring father to his children and to our niece Emily. We only had the privilege of meeting George once during John Paul and Emily`s wedding but his warmth and kindness to everyone around him was evident. Our sincerest condolences and prayers are with his entire family at this difficult time. John and Janice Kreisz
