With heavy hearts we announce that Giovanni Rasetta passed away with family by his side on September 14, 2024.
elevated WfVru Giovanni was a devoted husband to Vera for 50 years, and loving father to Dina (Ricardo), and Michael (Gloria). He was a cherished Nonno to Ricardo “Chi Chi”, Daniel, and Andres. He was also a beloved brother to Gino (Gigliola), and Antonietta (Gennaro), and dear brother-in-law to Teresa (Giovanni), Gino (Tina), and Nino (Libby).
elevated WfVru Giovanni was a dutiful and dedicated family man. An avid gardener, golf enthusiast, and motorsport fan, if he wasn’t cultivating cucumbers, a variety of hot peppers, pumpkin-sized tomatoes, and delicious figs from his garden, he could be found on the golf course with friends and family, or on the phone with his brother discussing the results of the latest Formula One race. Giovanni loved gathering with his loved ones to share fine wine and a delicious meal.

We are deeply saddened by John’s passing. We spent many wonderful times together, playing bocce, golfing, laughing and talking. He will be missed by all of us. Condolences go out to our dear Friend Vera and all the Family.

I met John while playing golf at Derrydale in Mississauga. Gene and I teamed up with Vera and John one morning a few years ago and we then met regularly as a 4 some for early morning golf. John was such a wonderfully likeable gentleman and the team of Vera and John could hold their own with the best of them. As his condition worsened we saw less of John but he managed to get out as often as he could, even if it meant , under Vera’s guidance, playing a pitch and putt game.
RIP John. Joanne and I extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of John.
