John Michael Robert Caruso

elevated na17z It is with sadness we announce the passing of John Michael Robert Caruso on January 22nd, 2022 in his 73rd year following a courageous battle with cancer. John was a devout Roman Catholic, and that deep faith brought him solace and comfort throughout his life.

elevated na17z John spent his entire life in Toronto and was a graduate of De La Salle College and University of Toronto.

elevated na17z John was predeceased by his parents Mary Caruso (nee Miceli) and Joseph Caruso, as well as his two siblings Julia McGuigan (nee Caruso) and Joseph Caruso.

elevated na17z John will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews as an Uncle who was always ready for a fine Italian meal followed by a game of cards. John had an encyclopedic memory for his families’ history and a life long fascination for complex Mathematics. With that knowledge he was the ‘go to’ guy for any problems related to Math or Physics.  

elevated na17z John spent most of his career in Inside Sales at Olympia Tile and Bell Canada. Upon retirement he was very active as a Volunteer at several charities, including Revera Rayoak Place Retirement Home where he enjoyed chatting with the retired residents and learning about their lives. He also served as a school crossing guard for many years as his way to give back to the community.
