Born on June 10, 1952, in Oas, Albay, Philippines, Joven moved to Canada in 1988 with his wife and son. His life was marked by a profound dedication to both his family and his faith. A devout Catholic, he served for many years as a member of the choir at St. Andrew and St Benedict Catholic Church in Etobicoke, Ontario.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen of 42 years; his son, Jejomar (Jj) and wife Noreen; his daughter, Hazel and husband Allan; and his grandchildren, Arthur, Quinn and Oliver. He is survived by his siblings Olga, Monina, Venusto, Anabella, Noel, Homer and Joseph Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo Sr. and Demetria, and his siblings Virgilio, Eduardo Jr., Fermin, Elmer and Susana.

Joven worked at Cedarvale Terrace, formally Lincoln Place for many years and poured his heart and soul into caring for the seniors that lived in our home. I am profoundly heartbroken and truly saddened by the news of Joven’s passing. It is a massive loss, and I am struggling to process this difficult news.
Joven was an exceptional colleague and, more importantly, a genuinely wonderful person. I will forever remember his positive spirit, his incredible dedication, and his unfailingly kind and thoughtful demeanor. He brought a unique, gentle warmth to interactions whether that was with staff or residents, which I will miss deeply.
I always appreciated this gracious phrase Joven would say to both staff and residents: “thank you for your kind consideration.” That sincere expression, and the gentle respect it carried, will linger in my mind forever as a perfect embodiment of the compassionate person he was.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts during this incredibly painful time. The memory of Joven will continue to be a source of inspiration for me.
