It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Simard on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of seventy-one after a 2-year battle with colon cancer. She was predeceased by Robert (1999), who was her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 27 years. She was a devoted mother to Nicole and Bryan and adored by pets, Onyx and Matlock.
elevated mQqqe Hawaii held a special place in Linda’s heart as she travelled to the islands with Robert several times over the years. She also enjoyed taking road trips, particularly to Florida, where she vacationed with family often. She appreciated the theater and attended the Shaw Festival frequently. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her family’s extracurricular activities, education, and hobbies. She consistently offered encouragement, support, and feedback during those pursuits. When she was not travelling or supporting family, Linda enjoyed working, learning, and problem-solving which she was able to do as an employee at the same company for over 51 years. She worked in several departments over that time, and she was considered to be an expert in various aspects of the business before retiring in 2024.
elevated mQqqe Linda’s legacy is one of steady support and devoted love. She was known to be kind, caring, and generous. She was the calm voice of reason, and the reassuring protector of those she loved. She was unapologetically her own person as well as a role model and mentor over the years.
elevated mQqqe In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society and / or The Toronto Humane Society would be appreciated in Linda’s memory. If you wish to send flowers in tribute to Linda, you may send them to the funeral home.
elevated mQqqe Special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and staff members at Credit Valley Hospital for their care of Linda during her treatments over the last two years.

The world lost a special person. My memories of Linda will always be her dedication, courage to speak up, and drive to improve things. She definitely left a legacy and lasting impression with her work family. She will be missed, most definitely.
I knew Linda from my time at Norbord and I will remember our friendly chats and many requests on Nortrack reports. Linda had a kind soul and she continued to wish me happy birthday after I left Norbord. She will be missed.
My sympathy to Nicole and Brian and the rest of the Simard family. I worked with Linda for over 30 years. She was an amazing lady to work with but she was also my friend. This world will be sadder without Linda in it. We will miss you Linda.
I met Linda 47 years ago when I began working at Norbord. We became great friends and that continued after I retired. I have so many cherished memories of Linda and her family, especially the years that we were on the road. She was a trusted friend with a great sense of both humour and wit. She was so thoughtful and generous. My family and I will miss her terribly.
I loved her as the sister that I never had. Nicole and Bryan, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I am sending condolences to all her family and friends.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Linda as her kindness and thoughtfulness was unmatched. She always took time to think of my family and I byway of sending thoughtful cards. I will miss her terribly and carry her memory with me always. My heartfelt condolences to Nicole and Bryan.
I met Linda 58 years ago in gr.9 at Bloor C.I. and we became lifelong friends, graduating together, being in each other’s wedding party, watching our kids grow up and our families going to Disneyworld together. The Simard house gatherings were always a lot of fun. Linda had a kind heart, lending a hand whenever needed. She was smart, hardworking and very devoted to her family. She and Robert were a great balance (l met Robert in Gr. 6.) She was proud of Nicole and Bryan and their accomplishments in life. Now she and Robert are together again. May she rest in peace. Nicole and Bryan so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Nothing can replace that void. She was definitely unapologetically her own person and I loved that about her! Behind that tough exterior she was very sweet and we had many long chats over the years. She was very proud of you both! Glad to have had the opportunity to meet and know her. Thinking about you all and praying peace for the family during these difficult times.
Truly sorry for your loss Nicole and Bryan. I worked closely with Linda over the years and she guided me and many others, instilling her wisdom over the years. She will be deeply missed.
We are very sorry to hear about Linda. Rose and I met Linda in grade 9 . We arranged for her to meet Robert at a party at my house I think in grade 10 , and the rest was history. Thinking of your family at this sad time.

We are so terribly sorry for Nicole and Bryan’s loss. Growing up, I always saw Linda and Robert as my aunt and uncle, as our families spent so much time together on our weekends, and Nicole/Bryan, and my brothers and I were always up to something – I always felt we were like family. I cannot believe Linda is gone. I will forever remember our weekend visits, as we were always allowed to stay up so late, and our amazing family trip to Disney. I’m so sorry she lost her battle with cancer, and all our hugs, prayers and sincere condolences are with Nicole and Bryan right now, and always.
