elevated Bv0T8 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Luigi, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and Nonno, who left us peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 74.
elevated Bv0T8 Luigi was a devoted husband to Marianne for 48 wonderful years. He was a proud father to Michael (Daniela), Joseph (Michelle), Carmela Kelly (Vinnie), and a cherished Nonno to his six grandchildren, Angelina, Matteo, Zachary, Nicholas, Nicola and Valentina who brought him endless joy and laughter.
elevated Bv0T8 He will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters in Italy. Rosanna (late brother Pietro), Maria Cristina (Luciano), Tonino (Nunzia), the late Mario (Teresa) and all his nieces and nephews and extended family as well as his brother in laws, sister in laws and nieces and nephews here in Canada.
elevated Bv0T8 He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents Michele, Carmela, his brother Mario, sister Imma, his in-laws Michele, Giuditta and brother in law Vincent Apreda.
elevated Bv0T8 Known for his kindness, strength, and gentle spirit, Luigi was a man of great integrity who touched the lives of everyone he met. He found happiness in the simple things — spending time with family, sharing stories, and offering a helping hand to anyone in need. His warmth and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
elevated Bv0T8 The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Mackenzie Health for there care, compassion and kindness they provide to Luigi in his final days.

To my sister Marianne and family. It was a dark day when you told us that Louie passed away. We thought for sure he would pull through. No more calling him “Gino” even though that wasn’t his name and laughing at the silliest things. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart and had a great big heart for mom, dad and Vince. He’s at peace now and catching up with them in Heaven.. R.I.P. Luigi “Louie”

My deepest condolences to Marianne, Joe, Carmela, Michael and family. Although I was only able to meet with Luigi once during the past summer we had a long conversation. He talked about his beloved in-laws and how he treasured the love, life and family Marianne and he built over the last almost half a century that they were together. May the warm memories of your long, loving life together comfort you during the days ahead.

I worked with Luigi at CP. Rail. I was his apprentice and enjoyed every minute of it. I learned so much, from learning how to repair locomotives to making spaghetti on the BBQ and zabaione. Since he retired I miss the conversations we used to have and the expresso along with it!
He was caring and funny, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I always looked forward to working along side him whatever the work day would bring.
He was a great friend and miss him dearly.
We lived across from Luigi and Marianne on Adrian Crescent in Markham. Our kids played street hockey with Michael, Joey, and Kelly.
Luigi always had a smile and friendly wave for us and kept us laughing at our street parties and dinners. He could still wear the suit he was married in, and sometimes did. My condolences to Marianne and the Castaldi family.
