It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Luisa Amendola (nee Guercio) on August 18, 2025 at Mackenzie Health Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 86. Born on May 23, 1939 in Altilia, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy to parents Silvio and Teresina. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Eraldo. Loving mother of Domenic (Patrizia) and Francesca (Joe). Proud Nonna of Eraldo, Fausto, Piero, Fiore, Robert, Daniel, and Adriano. Luisa will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends in Canada and Italy. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
Your thoughts and kindness are truly appreciated during this time of sorrow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in honour of Luisa Amendola can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation
Our hearts go out to Domenic Francesca Pat Joe and the Boys. Luisa always welcomed us with a hug and great food. When she became sick with a hug and a smile. When I lost my mother and father there was still Luisa who we (the Stancato’s) would see almost monthly. A constant reminder of my parents and that comforting feeling that came with it. Last conversation I had with her just weeks ago she reminisced about our families and how we always got along. She did so with a soft smile and seemed at peace within the conversation we had. We shed tears today and love you Luisa and already miss you. There is also a relief that you will be joining Eraldo and God in heaven
RIP Cara Luisa
With deepest sympathy on the loss of my Godmother.
Thank you for being my God mother
My comare Luisa. You always came to visit and with you, you brought a wonderful smile and a joyful disposition. I always looked forward to our visits. You are deeply appreciated and will be missed. Rest in peace.
