elevated 3y5Vs September 10, 1941 – March 30, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Luisa de Caires, surrounded by her loving family, on March 30, 2025, at the age of 83.

She was born on September 10, 1941, to parents Guilermo and Maria do Carmo Faria, and loving sister, Maria Alice. As a child, Luisa loved to sing. Later on, she became a skilled seamstress.

Luisa married Emanuel in 1964, and they went on to have three daughters. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to creating a nurturing home for her family while working part time. She found joy in gardening, baking, writing, and cooking for family gatherings.

Luisa is survived and dearly missed by her husband of over 60 years, Emanuel; her daughters, Emanuela (Jim), Sylvia, and Melissa (Jason); her granddaughters, Sara (Matt), and Christina (Jose); and her sister, Maria Alice.

She will also be greatly missed by her grand-dog, Ruby; her grand-cats, Maisie and Merry; and her cat, Bella, whom she loved very much.

Luisa’s memory will be greatly cherished by all who knew her, and she will be forever in our hearts.

The family wishes to thank Drs. Pereira and Patel, and the wonderful palliative care nurses, especially Sandra, at Credit Valley Hospital for their support, care, and compassion.
