Mrs. Marianna Teresa Kania (nee Syguła), beloved wife, Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners hospital in Mississauga on Sunday June 2, 2019, at the age of 85.
elevated JLHU1 Marianna is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Stanisław Kania; son Krzysztof Kania of Oakville; daughter and son-in-law Ewa and Stephen Roberts of Toronto; daughter and son-in-law Agata and Dariusz Zagórski of Warsaw, Poland; and seven grandchildren: Adam, Amanda, Konrad, Alexandra, Oliwia, Kamila and Szymon; sister Krystyna Kłosińska of Kraków; and brother Czesław Syguła of Fenwick. Marianna is predeceased by her brothers Władysław and Kazimierz of Miechów, Poland.
elevated JLHU1 Marianna was born and raised in Miechów near Kraków, Poland. Until 1974, she worked as a valued chemical technician in a tobacco plant laboratory in Kraków. Her impeccable and precise research was highly respected and she was an invaluable mentor to her colleagues. In 1975, Marianna immigrated to Canada with husband and three children where she and Stanisław became entrepreneurs, which included being the proprietors of a prosperous smoked meat business. Her lab experience played a key role in developing the family recipes for the best Polish sausage in Ontario, and quite possibly in North America.
elevated JLHU1 Marianna was a wonderful, warm, caring, selfless and devoted Mother, wife and Grandmother. She had unwavering faith and lived her life as a devoted Christian, never refusing requests for charity.
