Marita Reyes Cristobal passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2022 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
She was born on September 1st, 1956 in Obando, Bulacan, Philippines and immigrated to Toronto in the late 80s. A nurse for 30+ years, Marita spent her life dedicated to helping others and worked at a number of long-term care homes in Toronto. She loved going to her cottage, spending time with her 2 sons and the dogs, spending time eating and cooking good food, singing karaoke with her close friends and family and travelling.
An amazing mother and fiercely loyal friend, Marita will especially be remembered for her care, humour and her ability to treat anyone who came into her home as if they were family.
Marita is survived by her 2 sons, Laurence and Lorne; her 7 siblings; her mom; and many other friends and family.
Sincerest condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother, sister and friend.
I worked with Marita at Chester Village, and although our paths didn’t cross as often since she was on nights, I always enjoyed catching up with her at holiday and special events. She was energetic, caring, strong and dynamic. I will definitely miss her love of life. You are in my prayers.
