elevated 3z8mA It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Beloved Wife and Mother Pamela Ketchabaw (Vasconcellos) on January 19, 2022, at the age of 75. Pam is survived by her devoted husband Ron and her loving children, Trevor (Jasmine), Mark (Cynthia), and Jennifer (Vlad). Pam’s story will live on in her grandchildren, Madison, Nicolas, Mia, Emma, Evan, Isabella, Lilly, and Sofia.
elevated 3z8mA Pam was born in Georgetown, Guyana, and moved to Canada when she was six years of age. She was a loving daughter to Claude and Rita Vasconcellos and sister to Carol (Jim), Jacky (Paul), John (Linda), Chris (Corinne). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. While most of her life was spent in Canada, Pam was proud of her Guyanese heritage and spent many weekends with her sisters cooking their favourite foods from back home. She always like to describe herself as the easy child who would quietly cozy up with a book, while this was true, Pam also held strong values and opinions and she was never shy about letting you know what she was thinking.
elevated 3z8mA Pam devoted her younger years to her children, being the best mom she could be. From traveling to hockey tournaments to camping with the Girl Guides, Pam created memories with her children that will be cherished forever and traditions that will live on for years to come. She joined Girl Guides with her daughter and earned her camp name “Smurfette” at her very first camp where this city girl brought along her hairdryer and curling iron.
elevated 3z8mA Anyone who knew Pam knew that she always had dessert covered. She loved to bake and she proudly prepared many pies, chocolates, and cookies for our large family Christmas gatherings. Pam was an avid crafter, she enjoyed painting, crochet, and wood crafts. Her favourite hobby was sewing. She spent countless hours at her sewing machine, creating Halloween costumes, blankets, and tapestries.
elevated 3z8mA Mom, you have suffered, rest now, be at peace, and know you are loved and will never be forgotten.
elevated 3z8mA Funeral Service will be held at Assumption Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, funeral service will be by invitation only and can be live-streamed. Click here to watch the live stream funeral service.
elevated 3z8mA If desired, donations can be made in Pam’s Memory to The Association For Frontotemporal Degeneration or The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

My dearest Pammy: I have missed you these past few years, miles. and illness has kept us physically apart but never spiritually. We shared so much laughter, you took my teasing with such grace, so many tears as we held each other through the growing pains of our kids. There will always be a reserved place for you in my heart. You have fought the good fight and God has called you home, you are now safe in His loving arms. We will meet again my friend.
Pam, I genuinely miss your smile and cheer that you spread while we worked together at Sharp. Thank you for always making the office sunny inside no matter the weather outside
Rest in peace.
Our condolences to the family on the passing of our cousin who was a very special person. We spent a great deal of time with the Vasconcellos family growing up. Pamela was two years older than me and I hung on her every word. She was daring and gladly shared her experiences and fashion tips. She always managed to make me laugh; I can still hear her unique laugh. Rest peaceful Pamela.
I send our sincerest sympathy. I remember Pamela laughing so heartily from our childhood years. Clinton Avenue was always an exciting visit for me. She is at peace now.
