It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother Paola Renda (née Ponzo) at the John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee at the age of 88.
elevated Zf3vq She was born in Vita, Sicily, Italy to Giovanna and Pietro Ponzo.
elevated Zf3vq She is predeceased by her beloved husband Giuseppe (Joseph) Renda in 2014. Loving mother to Catherine Renda- Moore (Jerry) and Joanne Kastias (Tom). Cherished nonna to Maria (Claudio), Paulina and Peter. Adored “Old nonna” to Jaxon.
elevated Zf3vq Paola’s life was filled with love for her family, her many friends and for those whose lives she touched. She had a magic talent when it came to sewing and baking and many enjoyed the fruits of her labour. Her strong faith in the Lord allowed her to give those around her strength and courage. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
elevated Zf3vq In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paola’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society.

My Dearest Paola,
I will miss you dearly. You were an amazing, talented and generous woman, always making time for me with last minute requests to make a new outfit or an alteration. You are reunited with your loving husband and I know your new home with Lord will be a peaceful and happy one. You are in a beautiful place. May you rest in eternal peace with the Almighty. My sincerest condolences for your loss. Paola was a wonderful, caring and wonderful friend. She was always there for me, always ready with my sometimes last minute, late night visits for a wardrobe emergency.
She was a “zia” to my son Adam.
Paola was my confidante. She treated me like a daughter and I will always remember our times together. I never left empty handed from her home.
Joe was always so proud of his garden, we would talk for hours (it seemed) at times about his garden and of course, his other passion, cooking and baking. If he knew I was coming to see Paola, he always had a treat for me to share with him ove a cup of coffee or to take home.
Paola and Joe were family.
We did unfortunately drift apart, but the memories are always in my heart.
I truly miss them both. Paola was truly a special person. I am sure she is in peace now reunited with Joe. I can just see her and Joe planning trips for all their friends.
Paola, I have missed you and will always missyou.
