Piero (Peter) Paolo Baiocco, 84, of Toronto, passed away on February 2, 2022, after a long and remarkable battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. Piero was born on December 31,1937, to Giovanni and Florinda (Maria) Baiocco in the coastal Adriatic town of Porto San Giorgio, Italy.
elevated PU4nA Piero immigrated to Canada at the age of 16, immediately embracing life in his new home, while always maintaining a strong connection to his Italian heritage. Soon after arriving in Canada, he attended and graduated from the Provincial Institute of Trades (Toronto), becoming a talented tradesman and a proud lifelong member of United Association Local 46.
elevated PU4nA On February 25, 1967 he married Elena (nee Turrin) and together they welcomed four children into the world. Over nearly 55 years of marriage, they built a warm and welcoming home, shared many dances, and enjoyed countless memorable vacations and cruises together.
elevated PU4nA Piero was known for his love of his family and friends, his kind and generous heart, his charm, his curiosity, his welcoming spirit, his playful sense of humour, and his interesting and thought provoking conversation. He had a deep interest in many topics including history, science, and geography. He was a lover of music and of sports, a talented cook and winemaker, and an avid traveller. Above all, Piero’s love for life, his optimism and his positivity endeared him to many.
elevated PU4nA Piero will be cherished and missed by his wife Elena and his four children: Adriana, Lora (Matt), Giovanni (Susan), and Brian (Maja). He was blessed with five grandchildren: Michael, Markus, Shayna, Giovanni, and Clara. He is survived by his sister Lina, his nephew Joe (Laura, Robert, Adele, Nikki), niece Patricia (Max, Dario, Cassandra), and his many dear friends. He was truly beloved and will be missed by many.

My deepest sympathies to Elena on the loss of your husband and partner for many years, and to Adriana, Laura, John, and Brian and their wives and children on the loss of your Father and Grandfather. Pete was always so proud of each and everyone of his children and grandchildren. His interest in travel movies, stamps and coins and music gave him hours of joy. MHSRIP.

RIP Mr. B, a wonderful man and spirit! Condolences to all the Baiocco family and extended friends and family, including the wee birdy family I heard he saved and raised at the Baiocco ranch (where many of us were always welcomed)! Never forgotten…thoughts are with everyone at this difficult time.
