elevated WPMSQ Obituary

elevated WPMSQ It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rosa Aloise (nee Capano), at the age of 90 on Sunday, August 20, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late Luigi Aloise.  Cherished mother of Gina and her late husband Alfonso Carubia, Rina and her late husband Pino Pizzonia, Rino and his wife Patti, Frank and his wife Donna.  Devoted and caring Nonna to Cristina, Gianni, Francesca, Alessandro, Jack, Nicole, Michael, Megan and proudest Bisnonna of seven.

elevated WPMSQ Rosa was born on July 20, 1933 in Belvedere Marittimo, Italy, a small ocean side village.  Loving daughter of the late Nicola Capano and Rachele D’Amico.

elevated WPMSQ Rosa immigrated to Canada following her love Luigi Aloise and were later joined by Luigi’s mother Luigina.  Rosa and Luigi started a life together in Toronto in the Little Italy area of Grace and College.  Soon there were four small additions to their family.

elevated WPMSQ Rosa was a master seamstress working in the garment factories of Spadina, but her true talents were saved for her family and friends when she developed masterpieces for special occasions. Rosa loved her gardens, both flowers and vegetables and the making of Italian pillars like tomato sauce, wine, sausage and so much more.  Most of all Rosa loved being with her family, enjoying special occasions and the annual trips to Wasaga Beach and Niagara Falls.

elevated WPMSQ When Luigi passed away, Rosa was in her mid-fifties.  She showed the true strength of her character by taking care of her husband’s mother until her death, learning how to drive and surprising her children with unexpected visits.

elevated WPMSQ Rosa will forever be remembered and missed.
