elevated XxSH8 It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Salvatore Vaccaro, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Salvatore was the devoted husband of Giovannina Vaccaro(nee Gullusci), with whom he shared an extraordinary 72-year marriage, a bond they began on August 10, 1953. Their life together was marked by unwavering love, strength, and family.
He was the cherished father of Frank (Janie) and Joe (Silvana), and proud grandfather to Sammy DiCarltonio (Renata), Beatrice Bento (William), Samantha Graff (Matt), Frank Vaccaro Jr. (Rachel), Joanne Guillerme (Mark), Joseph Vaccaro and Matthew Vaccaro Salvatore’s legacy continues through his eight beloved great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride.
Born in Cantanzaro, Italy, Salvatore remained close to his roots and is deeply missed by his siblings and extended family overseas, in Italy and Canada.
Salvatore was a man of quiet strength who dedicated his life to his family, hard work, and tradition. As one of the founding members of Your Host Caterers, he helped build a lasting legacy. His warm smile, steady presence, and boundless love for his family will be fondly remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
If wished, donations may be made to Credit Valley Hospital.

Compare Sam was a kind, soft-spoken and dignified man. So many of my childhood memories are tied into his house on Wyndale Dr. and my visits to Your Host, where my efforts wrapping sandwiches were rewarded by chips or chocolate bars 🙂
His remarkably long life and loving marriage are an excellent example of a life well-lived and will always be an inspiration.
Gino and I and the kids extend our heartfelt condolences to the family. May fond memories be of consolation in your times of sorrow.
Thank you Nadia, to you and your family for all your kind words & support during this difficult time.
Your family and the Vaccaro’s were very close and l love hearing all the funny stories and memories you are able to share.
As his daughter in-law, l loved him very much.
He was a kind, loving man with a heart of gold.
I deeply appreciate the love and respect he shown me from day one. He was an exceptional father-in-law, and I was so blessed to have him in my life and call him my Father in-law. ❤️🙏🏻
Having been neighbours for many years while growing up, to eventually becoming a family in-law “Compare “ Sam will always hold a dear place in my heart. I can still remember when I’d see the white van pull up on Friday afternoons, after he and la Comara Giovanna had just put in a long week of hard work, only to open their home to anyone and everyone. He made sure you always felt welcome, generously catering to his guests, both at home as he did with his own catering business.
So many memories of weekends spent at Your Host Caterers learning how to seal food packages on the heat press for the coffee trucks, and then roaming around the big warehouse where he insisted we collect treats as our “pay,” to picnics at Heart Lake, and so many Christmas spent with our two familles, these special memories will never be forgotten.
To the whole Vaccaro family, you have mine and Sam’s heartfelt condolences. May knowing that he’s now in eternal peace be of comfort while you mourn his loss.
With much love ,
Mena Perinetti.
Mena, thank you to you and your family for all your support and kind words during this difficult time.
Thank you for sharing the amazing memories and hilarious stories you had growing up with the Vaccaro’s,
I feel incredibly lucky to have a father in-law as caring and loving as he was. So proud to call him my father in-law.
🙏🏻❤️
🙏💞
Although we haven’t seen each other in many years, I remember having some good times when the families got together.
Your dad was always a gentleman and treated my family with kindness and respect.
Our deepest condolences for your loss.
May he rest in eternal peace.
🙏🙏🙏
He was one of the hardest-working men I have ever known — someone who never shied away from doing what needed to be done, no matter how tough things got. He built a life with his own two hands, and through it all, he never lost his spirit.
But what I will remember most — beyond his strength and dedication — was his incredible sense of humor. He had that rare gift of knowing just when to crack a joke.
Uncle Sam, was truly one of a kind. His legacy of hard work, laughter, and love will stay with me always.
Rest peacefully, Uncle Sam. You will never be forgotten
