Our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to the Santos Family . May his soul rest in eternal peace
Virgilio Cruz Santos, Sr:
That’s my Daddy’s full name. He was the 6th of 12 children, of Jose Bernardo Santos, Sr. and Felicidad Cruz Santos.
His wife, Lilia Añasco Santos passed away in 2022, and he had longed to be with her since.
They had 4 children, Araceli Rubi, Virgilio Jr (passed in 2021), Christine, and Elaine. They also had 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Dad studied radio, tv, and allied electronics, computer programming and business administration. He also studied dentistry, but did not finish it. He worked for the Central Bank of the Philippines until the family migrated to Toronto, Canada in 1971. In Canada, he was employed by Gulf Oil, which became BP, and eventually became Petro Canada. He worked as computer system analyst.
He was a hard worker, honest to a fault, but most of all, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend, etc. He genuinely cared about everyone in his life.
His faith was strong. When he could no longer open his eyes, he found comfort in me reading his daily prayers for him at his bedside. Prayer gave him strength to soldier on through life’s challenges.
Dad was my gold standard – as husband to Mom, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, sibling, and every title he ever held on earth. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him.
He is now singing to Mom, as they dance in Heaven, reunited with my brother Junior and all departed loved ones.
I thank the Good Lord for giving our family such a beautiful man.
