It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Gentile on Saturday August 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family and friends at Hospice Vaughan at the age of 50. Beloved husband of Diana and devoted father of Alyssia and Gianluca. Loving son of Guiseppina and the late Angelo. Sadly missed by his mother in law Claire and the late Felice and brother in law Tony (Andrea). Dear brother of Miguel, Mario and Julia. He will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He will be forever remembered by his friends for his big smile, his laughter and love for the Boston Bruins. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Vaughan would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring team at Hospice Vaughan.

In my heart is where I will keep you.
I remember seeing that smile when I first started at the hotel. Tony was the most welcoming person you could know. He always spoke fondly of his family. His light will be missed by many.
It breaks my heart to hear of Tony’s passing. Although we didn’t keep in touch as much as I would have liked after high school, he always found a way to send a post or two about the Leafs or Bruins just to rub it in. I’ll never forget going downtown with him in ’94 for Game 7 when the Leafs beat the Sharks—we were running up and down Yonge Street celebrating. He always had a soft spot for the Leafs, and I’m glad he was able to see his Bruins win the Stanley Cup. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He was taken from us far too soon.
